Alana Balagot is a film composer and singer in Los Angeles. She is a trans half Filipinx and half Finnish woman and lives with her wife and two cats. She sings in the Key Change ensemble and the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles, and has scored several independent features and contributed music to the films Cloud Atlas and Killer Elite. She orchestrated for the band Dirty Vegas with the New World Symphony and has collaborated with the JACK quartet.
A Chicago native, she studied composition at Oberlin Conservatory, and received an MFA in Music for the Screen from Columbia College Chicago. Balagot is also a comedian and maker with interests in kinetic art, robotics, DJing, and electronic music.
